The invite read:
PERSEVERANCE PAYS OFF!
21 YEARS AFTER THEIR FIRST KISS
17 MONTHS AFTER THEIR FIRST DATE
9 WEEKS AFTER THEIR WEDDING
WENDY AND JONATHAN
ARE THRILLED TO INVITE YOU
TO CELEBRATE THEIR MARRIAGE AT
NEW YORK CITY
SATURDAY, THE 24TH DAY OF JANUARY
TWO THOUSAND AND FOUR
HALF PAST SEVEN IN THE EVENING
Having worked for Wendy for a few years, I expected big things from the night, but had no idea what was in store. After the little dinner party at her house Friday night, ucpsychguy decided he would come with (I think the desert convinced him to come). We didn't waste any time once we got there. We had a couple Appletinis, followed by shots the drag queen hostesses were providing. Dinner was amazing, as was the entertainment. The event seemed like more like an after party for the Oscars or something (not that I've ever been to one, but I can imagine that this is what it would be like). In the first shot above is a random shot of the main dining area. The second is one of the entertainers for the evening which Seth caught on video (you can see it by clicking here). Finally the last shot above is a shot of the chocolate fondue fountain (which went very well with the homemade marshmellows). Wow. Suffice it to say, I had a desert plate full of desert.
Here's a shot of Seth and me with Lori and her friend Lisa. And of course you have a very rare shot of me in a tux.
In the collage below, the diva in the gold Versace evening gown is none other than Wendy. If it looks familiar, a few people said it was the same dress that Beyonce wore. As someone pointed out, however, Wendy actually owned her dress; whereas, Beyonce's was only on loan to her (tee hee). And finally, the two "brides" with Seth and me are two of the hostess drag queens for the evening.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun. And I wish Jonathan and Wendy nothing but happiness in the future! (Not to mention thank them for an unbelievable evening).
