Vatican fights gay marriages
Thursday, July 31, 2003 Posted: 10:58 PM EDT (0258 GMT)

VATICAN CITY (CNN) -- The Vatican has launched a global campaign against gay marriages, warning Catholic politicians that support of same-sex unions is "gravely immoral."

"Marriage exists solely between a man and woman ... Marriage is holy, while homosexual acts go against the natural moral law," the 12-page document by the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said Thursday.

"Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean not only the approval of deviant behavior ... but would also obscure basic values which belong to the common inheritance of humanity."

"To vote in favor of a law so harmful to the common good is gravely immoral," the document said.

The Vatican's document -- "Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons" -- also denounces gay couples adopting children.

"Allowing children to be adopted by persons living in such (homosexual) unions would actually mean doing violence to these children ... (placing) them in an environment that is not conducive to their full human development." (excerpts only.. full text at

Now let's compare this to:

Viorar Vel til Loftarasa

Would you like to see those two again? Hate vs. Sweet & innocent

Let me be the first next to say FUCK YOU, PONTIF. I generally like(d) to believe that those running the Catholic Church are well intentioned. Perhaps a bit very misguided, maybe narrow minded. But then why do they come across as hate mongers? I wouldn't give Senator Knight or members of the KKK the benefit of the doubt like that. Why should I give it to a group hiding behind holiness and "God"? Seems to me that if it smells like a bigot, looks like a bigot, and acts like a bigot, maybe it's a bigot?

Now, before I continue, in case you haven't picked up on it, I don't have much any respect for the Roman Catholic Church. I think they're wrong about just about anything and everything. After all, how can you take a religion seriously that actually suggests that a new born baby is born with "original sin"? Sin? A baby?
sin - /'sin/ : a : an offense against religious or moral law / b : an action that is or is felt to be highly reprehensible {it's a sin to waste food} / c : an often serious shortcoming : FAULT

Do you mean to suggest that an innocent child is born with sin while the priest administering baptism is sinless? Who are you kidding? Babies are born pure, innocent. It's adults and, oh, I don't know.. maybe the Catholic Church that fills their heads with hate (e.g., see the above article). And let's not forget that this is the same religion that, even today, still insists that masturbation is a sin. Seriously, it's 2003. These people in Rome are deranged.

I consider myself fortunate that even as a child going to catechism, I realized that what they were teaching made absolutely no sense. "Catechism", for those of you who may not have heard of it, is an indoctrination process contrived by the Catholic Church to assimilate their victims into believing completely nonsensical things. It's sort of like the Borg assimilation, except it's slower and far more painful. It borders on child abuse. I take pride in the fact that I stumped the catechism teachers oh so many wonderful times. Santa Claus was more believable than the crap they wanted us to believe. "You gotta have faith." The age old cry of those trying to make you believe something that makes no sense. No, you have to think. And that's precisely what they don't want you to do. Thinking is discouraged. Faith — doublespeak for blind allegiance — encouraged.

Quitting Catholocism was one of the greatest moments in my life. There should be a ceremony for it. For those of you lucky enough to have avoided the iniquity known as Catholocism, you do miss out on one thing: You cannot possibly understand how hysterical the movie Dogma truly is. It's a brilliant, brilliant movie.

Maybe those in glass pope-mobiles shouldn't throw stones

So, Vatican, launch your global campaign against homosexuals. You want to call me a deviant? You want to call me immoral? You want a war? Bring it. But do you think you'll be able to stop long enough from molesting children, covering up for your priests, spewing your baneful dogma, and scurrying to save your sorry asses from extinction in the 21st century?

The only unfortunate thing is that I don't believe in hell. I'd like to think it exists, because I think that's exactly where the leaders of the Vatican would spend eternity for spewing their vitriol. In fact, if George W. is really intent of ridding the world of evil, maybe he should invade the Vatican next.

Hope I didn't offend anyone. But these assholes had it coming.

Thank you, drive through.
