looked all right from the outside, but from the amount of smoke, it must've been bad in the inside. One of my friends DJed there for a while, he said the place was really old, in need of a lot of seismic retrofitting and repair. Assuming all that's true, it's probably not looking good in there.

I hope they fix it up and have it back as soon as possible though. It's one of the few bars open passed 2:00.

It's probably a publicity stunt....

infamous. i never have gone there yet, but have been told they have naked go-go hard-on'd dancers in big glass boxes full of water and foam.

And then some.

i've gotten many a chub watching the gogo dancers in jocks going at it.

Huh. And just last year, the only other place where guys used to dance naked/hard was bulldozed - "O" Street SE in Wash, DC. I'm sure it happens in other places but way unoffficial-illegal-like.

I heard the news this afternoon! All jokes aside (as I've heard many already...), it really is kind of sad. I spent a lot of time there when I was under 21 and they had 18+ Tuesdays, and still end up there once every now and again when I've had a little too much to drink (or am looking to drink a little too much...). I'm very curious to see what they do about it (i.e. repair the place, tear it down and build something new, etc).

I think we should start a foundation for the dancers. They probably don't have money to pay rent and are now on the streets. I volunteer my place for them to stay in. It'll be a tight squeeze.
