Meet my new boyfriend
Built in 802.11b/g wifi.
Touch screen.
MiniSD card slot.
Quad band.

He comes out for T-Mobile in the states next month—just in time for Valentine's day.

I can't wait. I'm totally having its babies.
Mood: enamored

Looks thin too (important!).

Built in wifi and bluetooth is very very nice. Is there an added service contract required, for making use of the wifi connection? Seems like something a carrier might try to pull. I'd hope not though!

Re: hmm
it's a bit bigger than my A630, but I'm told smaller than the small BLackberry. It seems as if it's pretty small height and width, but the thinkness/depth is a tiny bit more than a blackberry.

Still, for all they pack in there.

The wifi should be open. FOrtunately, it's all GSM, so even if the carrier tried to lock down some of the features, you could just flash it with the generic OEM firmware or from one of the overseas carriers.

t-mobile will have it for $399 with contract renewal. Retail is like $700 if you want to buy an overseas version, carrier unlocked.

...I'll wait for T-Mobile :)

i have to agree even tho i just switched from t-mobile back to verizon. it would have done me well to just upgrade my T plan then go to verizon. i figured i would save $$$ since all my friends were IN plus i had them before and the service/reception was great but if they dont try to squeeze everything for a buck! liek with T internet was $5 with Verion same but it counts against your airtime when you use b4 9. vcast is a joke, who would pay for it?

i think i miss t-MO

eww big antenna!

yeah, i would never go with either Sprint (again) or Verizon because of their restrictions alone. It's amazing to realize how long we've had bluetooth on GSM before Sprint and Verizon finally got it.

*adds u back*

I just read in one of the forums that the CDMA version would not include wi-fi. I don't know how true that is; phonescoop lists Wi-Fi as "Yes."

He's so cute and it is scandalous that you would post such pictures, even behind a cut. ;)

Official product name is the HTC Wizard. It goes by the iMode K-Jam name with some overseas carriers. T-Mobile is supposed to sell it under the "MDA" name in the states. Cingular is going to call it the 8125 but using a different form factor (more square, looks like a Palm Pilot).

oh good lord no.

I've had absolutely horrible experiences with Verizon. Several bad ones from when they were GTE (landline service).

Then I had one just uber shady one at work. Seriously, I think people who work for that company used to sell time shares for swamp land in Florida.

reminds me of a dopod i saw except the dopod had a prettier keypad.

how heavy is the one in ur post?

I think the dopod may be based on the same Wizard phone. THere are apparently several variations of it.

This one weighs 160g. My current phone weighs 123g, so it's a little heavier, but packing a lot more features!
