doh, Homer - D'oh

Well THAT was unfortunate

Going down the stairs today to go to lunch today with the department, this rather hot guy comes running out of the Fox office downstairs. He takes a double, triple, and quadruple take, and not so subtlely. I'm trying to look without appearing to look in front of my coworkers, as I'm trying to remain engaged in the conversation with them without appearing distracted. (Wow, that's a lot of "trying.") I thought for sure I'd get a couple comments form my coworkers. I actually kind of wish I had; it made the whole encounter a bit uncomfortable. But I think the new employee and guy from another department being with us tempered that. I saw them looking at him, so I know they saw it.

BUT WHY DO THESE THINGS NEVER HAPPEN WHEN I'M ALONE! You think I'm bad at flirting when I'm alone, you should see me when I'm in front of others. It's almost painful to watch.

Anyway, it's fairly obvious to everyone what had just went on. He continued to look back, several times. I'm horrible at encounters like this, but even this one I could have handled if I were alone, his brazenness would have allowed me to say something—exchange screennames and shit. Instead I just had to watch him walk off, periodically looking back, while I realized there was nothing I could do short of breaking with the group and going after him. Of course, I should have done that, but I was more concerned with embarrassment. Why couldn't I be shameless like him?!

Hopefully he works at Fox and wasn't some messenger I'll never see again. It's more likely the latter.
