Know thy enemy!
For Californians:

List of candidates who have signed the Marriage Protection Pledge of the fringe group Campaign for California Families, pledging to vote against not only gay marriage but all forms of equal rights for gays—domestic partnerships, civil unions, etc. CCF is pretty out there. Check out their links section, if you're really bored and want to be entertained.

[Edit: I found the following also useful page. You choose your state senator or assemblymember from the drop down, and it tells you how s/he voted v. the CCF position. It obviously took them some time to compile all this information, so let's use it for good instead of the bigotry they promote! I was pleased to learn that my state assemblyman and senator scored very low on CCF's scale!]

In happier news, I hate my cell phone. It likes to pocket dial people, and one of these days someone is going to get a recording of me singing in the car, and that's just not good for anybody. Besides, at heart, I'm really a flip phone person. I thought I might give Sony-Ericsson a break and try Motorola. I originally had my eye on the V600 (left), which is now finally listed as "out" by T-mobile; but then I noticed the RAZR V3 (right)... supposed to come out Q4. Preeeeeeeeety. I may have to wait. Both are quad band GSM, so pretty much that bitch should work in Outer Mongolia.

I have used nothing but motorolas and I find them cooler than your average nokia or ericsson, they're also alot tougher cause mine tolerates my daily abuse with good humour :) I'm not really a flip phone person but I like the one on the right mostly because of my issues with antenas jabbing me in the leg or worse my hip when I sit down.

You're going to spend 750 dollars or so on a mobile phone (RAZR V3)? I'm the emperor of the gadgeteers and even I wouldn't spend that much.

Hell no.. But will it really be that price when it comes out?

They're projecting 650 to 750 or something to begin and they don't expect the price point to drop any lower than 500, even when it becomes an older model.

We'll see. I'm hoping these price projections are way too high :-).

Now I remember why I don't like Motorola: overpriced phones. I think the V600 is overpriced at $299, and that's the subsidized price.

They do seem to have better voice quality than their competitors though.

Try finding it on ebay... that is where i found my baby:

The Samsung SGH-E600. It retails out here for about $699. I got it for a lil over $350 (yes still over-priced BUT I figure since I am suffering with T-Mobile for a year I might as well enjoy the phone).

The only thing about the phone though is that since it is not marketed for North America (it is for Europe and Asia) my friends complain about the way it sounds. I just blame my carrier cuz most people don't have a nice thing to say about T-Mobile. So you have other phone options aside from what is offered in the States so long as it is on your GSM network.

Oh and another site i found handy on cell phones what not and maybe you have a question you want to ask before you make a purchase is Howard Forums

well anyway g'luck. that Motorola to the left is sharp. i think i would trade mine in for it.

Re: ebay!!
Thanks... that does look tight, but I need one with Bluetooth :-/

I'm starting to rethink Motorola too. A couple of my friends have the V600, so I asked them what they thought, and they both hate it. That was a little disappointing.

I've been pretty happy with T-mobile. My contract's up, but I'll be sticking with them. I really want to stick with GSM, but I've heard bad things about AT&T.

I think the RAZR V3 would make a lovely addition to your pocket.

I know, right? The more I look at it, the more I fall in love with it.

If the $700 price tag is right though. I'll fall out of love with it fast!

Hello Moto
I saw that on Gizmodo last week. It does look mighty sleek.

All I want in my next mobile phone is for it to be extremely small and of the flip style.
This is one step closer ~
