Users of AOL Mail
For those of you who are using AOL as your email account, AOL has finally opened up its mail servers to use outside of their own programs using IMAP protocol (so you can use it with Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.).

server type is IMAP4 (not POP3).

The incoming server is imap.aol.com.
The outgoing server is smtp.aol.com (you must change the port from 25 to 587).

username is your screenname.

That was seriously the most useful fact of the millenium for me, thus far.

Woo - hoo! No more lengthy waits for the AOL box to load!

Not alive, that's for sure. David, where have you been all my life (read: past few months)?

Come, come to UCLA and do something, anything, with me. I miss you.

It is impossible to overstate how incredibly useful this piece of information is and how thankful I am that you thought to share it.
