Betalicious
I'm loving the new beta version of Yahoo! messenger at work. Mainly I'm liking that Launch.com is built in. That, and the new emoticons are just... well... adorable. There, I said it.

eh, i prefer Trillian to any other form of messenger - the combination is great.

and i prefer artistdirect.com & purevolume.com over launch.com....

but hey, whatever makes your banana happy.

I can't do artistdirect. They were like our arch nemesis at my last company. Well, actually they were the sworn enemy of our CEO, but, you know how that is....

PureVolume I've not tried out, but after I taught Launch.com what I like, it's done an amazing job of finding other songs I like. Well, except today. Today I feel like I'm listening to the crap channel instead of "My Channel."

I'm usually a trillian user... but this new Yahoo! one is so PRETTY... I think I'll have to dabble with the individual apps again a bit.

wanted Trillian to work for me, but it kept overwriting my AIM buddy list since it stored it locally. So I just run them individually—Yahoo! and ICQ at work; AIM and Yahoo! at home.

But the new "audibles" in yahoo are fun... not useful, but fun. Now they just really need to add the ability to paste images like AIM and universal plug'n'play support for webcams like MSN does.

I saw your entry about AOL hijacking your browser... Y! Messenger added a toolbar, which I cursed and uninstalled. :)

Yeah, I use Trillian on my laptop and desktop and it was making the process of cleaning up my AIM buddy list VERY difficult... I had to finally use AIM to do the changes, then delete the entire lists from both Trillians.

...it really shouldn't be this difficult!

I know...

You have to watch the Yahoo! installer. It offers you a choice at the beginning to install just the messenger or the messenger and the Yahoo! "Experience." The experience is the toolbar. I use it at work because it makes getting to my bookmarks easier since I store them on bookmarks.yahoo.com instead of my browsers since I use so many different computers and constantly switch between Firefox and IE.

Well...
It does look purty from that screen shot. I can't use it though, since I use a mac computer. Alas!

I wonder if it is as good as the newest version of MSN messenger. I remember that being a good chat program on windows.

Re: Well...
I'm sure they'll get around to a new Mac version soon enough :-P

I played with the new MSN a little bit, but no one really seems to use it. Which is probably good since I don't think I can run any more IM programs without needing to check into a 12-step program.
